Zero and First conditionals (English-Español)

Hello! How are you doing? Do you know “English conditionals”? I am sure that if you have studied English, you have the knowledge about this issue. There are 4 conditionals in English: zero, first, second and third. Today, we are going to talk about zero and first conditionals.

ZERO CONDITIONAL

When you use it, you are talking about facts. This structure is:

IF + present tense verb + present tense verb

Example:

If it snows, driving becomes dangerous (DiGiacomo, 2020)

EN ESPAÑOL

You have to use the same structure:

SI + tiempo verbal en presente + tiempo verbal en presente

FIRST CONDITIONAL

When you use it, you are talking about things that will happen in the future, I mean, it is pretty sure that they are going to happen. The structure is:

IF + present simple + future tense (it can be: will + infinitive, be going to + inf, can + inf, would + infinitive or may/might + inf)

Example:

If it snows tomorrow, I will not drive my car (DiGiacomo, 2020)

It is very similar, then:

SI + tiempo verbal en presente de indicativo + tiempo verbal en futuro simple de indicativo

A. ¿Puedes traducir las siguientes condicionales al español?

-If you don’t take your coat, you will be cold.

-If we meet up today, we should go to the cinema.

-They will visit the museum, if they do their homework.

-You mustn’t use your phone, if you drive / are driving

-If he continues to work hard, he will achieve a great success for his company.

B. ¿Puedes conjugar los siguientes verbos en futuro simple de indicativo?

2º persona del plural (vosotras) del verbo COMER

3º persona del singular (él) del verbo SALIR

2º persona del plural (vosotros) del verbo CANTAR

1º persona del singular (yo) del verbo IR

3º persona del plural (ellos) del verbo HABLAR

2º persona del singular (tú) del verbo RECORRER

1º persona del plural (nosotras) del verbo DETENER

2º persona del singular (tú) del verbo LEER

3º persona del plural (ellas) del verbo COCINAR

2º persona del plural (vosotros) del verbo LEVANTAR

C. ¿Puedes traducir los verbos anteriores al inglés?
