Hello! I hope you’re having a lovely day! I’m here today to remind you something which is crucial, however most of you forget sometimes and that’s not good. I’ll write it in capital letters, just in case it helps a little bit more.
PUNCTUATION MARKS IN QUESTIONS AND EXCLAMATIVE SENTENCES MATTER!
Yes, I know that English, French and other languages only need one at the end of questions and exclamative sentences; however, that’s not the case of the Spanish language.
Apart from that, I know that Spanish native speakers forget sometimes, especially when we’re writing on social media, the initial question and exclamation symbol…. And that’s not good, as you can imagine.
Although you must know that question and exclamation mark at the beginning and at the end of these sentences are compulsory. Also, if you’re writing a formal essay, document or doing a test…you can lose punctuation if you forget them.
Then, it’s easy to do it great so… let’s do this, please!
Y, ahora, en español. Por favor, sé que con las redes sociales y la mensajería instantánea está muy de moda eso de olvidar el signo interrogativo y exclamativo al inicio de una pregunta o exclamación; sin embargo, hemos de saber que son obligatorios en nuestra lengua, la española. Por tanto, ¡hagamos un esfuerzo! Y, por supuesto, he visto en algunas ocasiones olvidar estos signos de interrogación y exclamación al inicio en presentaciones de clases de español y en documentos oficiales. ¡No me lo podía creer! ¿Y si nos volvemos a esforzar un poquito en conservar estos signos que son tan característicos de nuestra lengua como lo es la ñ? ¡Gracias!
